About Free Kanban Boards

Our Mission

Free Kanban Boards was created with a simple mission: to provide a powerful yet easy-to-use kanban board system that helps teams visualize their work, limit work-in-progress, and maximize efficiency.

We believe that effective project management tools should be accessible to everyone, not just large organizations with big budgets. That's why we've built a platform that's completely free while still offering the features teams need to succeed.

Our Story

The journey of Free Kanban Boards began when our founder, a project manager frustrated with the complexity and cost of existing project management solutions, decided to create something better.

Drawing inspiration from Toyota's manufacturing principles and the kanban method, we developed a streamlined system that helps teams visualize their workflows, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve their processes.

Since our launch, we've been dedicated to refining our platform based on user feedback while maintaining our commitment to simplicity and accessibility.

The Kanban Method

Kanban is a visual method for managing work as it moves through a process. It visualizes both the process (the workflow) and the actual work passing through that process.

The goal of Kanban is to identify potential bottlenecks in your process and fix them so work can flow through it cost-effectively at an optimal speed or throughput.

Key principles of Kanban include:

  • Visualize the workflow - Using cards and columns to represent work items and stages
  • Limit work in progress - Reducing multitasking and improving focus and quality
  • Manage flow - Ensuring work moves smoothly through the process
  • Make process policies explicit - Clearly defining how work is done
  • Implement feedback loops - Continuously improving the process

Our Team

Free Kanban Boards is maintained by a small team of passionate developers and designers who believe in the power of visual project management.

We're committed to creating a platform that's not only powerful and flexible but also intuitive and enjoyable to use.
